PAWN Records and Purple Phase are teaming up to stage a fuzz, shoegaze, and noise gig in Bacolod this December 14 at M Music Pub.
The show, which was announced earlier today (December 3), features acts like Cebu’s Milkmus, Dumaguete’s Marcid and Jadeds, as well as TIFF from Perth, Australia. They will be joined by local Bacolod acts Dizzyonswings and Roof Pizza.
Tickets are priced at P100 for students and for the pre-sale period. Regular admission costs P200. Interested attendees can purchase tickets via this Google Form.
In other news, Milkmus recently performed at the recently concluded Fuzzheaven Shoegaze Festival held in Metro Manila last November 30 to December 1. They were joined by fellow VisMin acts Folding Bed, KRNA, and bedtime television.
On the other hand, Marcid’s track “Daydreamer Drowsy” was recently named as one of Coast2Coast‘s 25 best songs of 2024. We wrote, “2024 was a busy year for Dumaguete shoegaze outfit Marcid, but “Daydreamer Drowsy” off their Across Imaginations a Serendipity of a Soul twin single release is a standout for that intro guitar section before it launches into full fuzz and distortion. The ambience and reverb drive home the track’s somber tone. If you’re looking for new shoegaze to obsess over, you can’t go wrong with Marcid.”
