Looking to get a glimpse of what the hardcore scene in Mindanao is like? Turnpike vocalist Bhenz Bryle Tomilap recently launched an “incomplete compilation” of Mindanaon hardcore bands on Spotify.
In a Facebook post uploaded last December 3, Tomilap wrote, “Apart from what new schoolers know, Mindanao has a rich hardcore/punk scene. It spans decades of tradition and culture.”
“No one has really made a public playlist of MHxC. Gibuhatan nako. Para sad ma explore atong scene sa uban taga gawas (I made one. So that those from outside of Mindanao can explore our scene). As someone born and raised in Mindanao, this is something that I am proud of.”
The playlist features tracks from acts like Clobberin’ Time, Crossfire, Anamorphic, Stout, The Cussed, and more. In other news, Turnpike premiered their debut album, Straight to the Domes of Your Heads, last November 22. The record consists of their previously released singles such as “Peeling My Scars” and “Fatal Cleansing.”
