Music, art, and politics are set to converge this December 14 at TUIS: A Concert and Art Show.
The event, which will be held at Cebu Making Space in Mango Square, will feature music, art, and films from various sociopolitical groups in Cebu. In a Facebook post explaining the event, Counterflow Productions shared, “TUIS is a Bisaya word which means “distort”. In the midst of a post-truth era where distortion has become a norm perpetrated by powerful cliques hijacking our institutions [sic].”
“At this time where truth is distorted in the name of pluralism and relativism, we find it imperative to speak, create, sing, dance, and write truth to power. Hence the event, TUIS.”
Local acts Hollywood Folk Hogan, Offals, KANA, Awkward Dancer, The Stawnes, The Pervs, Terminal, as well as Nikkie and Llywi Ripper are set to perform at the event. Aside from the performances, human rights group DAKILA will host a film screening while artist Andres will be staging an art exhibit. The event is free and open to the public.
In other news, Offals recently premiered their latest single, “Motorcycle Motorway.” It was the last single recorded by the band’s former frontman, Louell Armas-Lopez, before his passing earlier this year. Listen to track on Spotify below.
