Malaysia-based event producer TONGTONG Asia is bringing together some of Southeast Asia’s fastest rising female-fronted bands this February 8 at The Vox in Kuala Lumpur.
The one-day concert aptly titled Grrrls! To The Front aims to be a “powerful celebration of female-fronted bands and the flourishing independent music scene in Southeast Asia.” In a press release, TONGTONG Asia shared that this was their “commitment to amplifying the voices of women in music.”
The lineup will consist of acts like Singaporean indie-pop act Sobs, Thailand’s Yonlapa, Indonesia’s Grrrl Gang, and Malaysian bands Fuad and Hawa. DJ Aidaho will also be in attendance to perform a high-energy DJ set during the event.
TONGTONG Asia added, “At its heart, [the event] aims to showcase female Southeast Asian artistry while fostering community among musicians, artists, and enthusiasts — championing regional music discovery and development…The event represents TONGTONG Asia’s vision of creating an innovative and inclusive platform for Southeast Asian creativity.”
Tickets for Grrrls! To The Front are priced at RM 128 (roughly ₱1,703.70) for Phase 3 of selling. Interested attendees can purchase tickets now via Tapautix.
